Ninja Luxe Café Premier vs Pro
We may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. It doesn't change our picks. How we're paid
The Pro (ES701) is the Premier (ES601) plus a hot water spout, a lever tamper built into the machine, a fifth froth setting and a bigger milk jug, for $150 more at Ninja's list prices. The grinder, scale and guided brewing are the same.
Specs and prices from Ninja's US comparison chart and product pages, checked Nov 1, 2026. We don't own or test these machines; see how we choose.
The short answer
Get the Premier (ES601) if
you won't miss a hot water spout for tea or Americanos, you mostly make double shots, and you'd rather keep the $150.
Get the Pro (ES701) if
you want hot water from the machine, a single-shot option, the built-in tamping lever and a larger milk jug.

What reviewers say about the differences
Only one independent reviewer we found tested both machines side by side, so treat these as one person's findings (Coffee Kev):
- The built-in tamping lever on the Pro is the biggest day-to-day improvement.
- The hot water button and single basket make the Pro the better choice for North American buyers, since the US Premier lacks both.
- The Pro's "extra thick" foam is only slightly thicker than the Premier's thickest setting.
- The Pro's larger jug and cooler-to-touch wand make milk drinks a little easier.
What applies to both
Reviewers of the Premier agree on these points, and the Pro shares the same grinder, scale and guided brewing:
- Both are very beginner-friendly: the machine recommends a grind setting, weighs the dose and adjusts the brew. (Tom's Guide, TechRadar, Coffee Kev)
- Automatic frothing works with dairy and plant milks, and you can steam by hand. (Tom's Guide, TechRadar, Coffee Kev)
- They trade control for convenience and aren't a substitute for a traditional espresso machine if you want to refine your shots. (Tom's Guide, Coffee Kev)
